As managers go only one can boast a complete one hundred per cent unbeaten record while being in charge at Barrow. Granted he was only at the club for 24 hours, but that's not the point!...

REMEMBERING MANAGERS

#2 - David 'Where Am I?' Hughes

David Hughes arrived immediately after the departure of Ron Yeats in the close season of 1977 (probably in July). He left 24 hours later (give or take five minutes) claiming the toilets and goal nets were not up to scratch.

When he arrived he promised new players, new coaching methods and new dugouts. But, rumour has it, after talking to Barrow's second most favourite footballing son (after Jimmy Capstick of course), Emlyn Hughes, he decided not to bother because the place was a dump and going nowhere. David took notice of the squeaky one and consequently bombed us off.

Just look at us now David, and where the hell are you David, together we could have been beautiful David, you listened to Emlyn, David... why? Why, David, why? Where did it all go wrong?

The 100% record is still intact though!
